Twin DN 1400mm Pipeline from Ghomadh South to Al-Ain Reception
The Government of Abu Dhabi has constructed a new desalination plant in Fujairah to supply water to the Al-Ain region the Summer Capital of Abu Dhabi Emirates.

Al Nasr Irrigation & Contracting Co. was awarded the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract to design & construct on a fast track schedule twin 1400mm pipelines (27 Bars Working Pressure) for a distance of 27Km from Ghomadh South to Al-Ain Reception area in 6 (six) months through the desert sand dunes with crossings under gas lines and roads under construction.

To meet the project’s challenging time schedule, the Company mobilized in 15 days, during which a complete survey of the pipeline rout was conducted, profile drawings prepared, construction method statements submitted, equipment and machinery moved to site, temporary access roads through the desert was laid and pipeline material (GRP) was ordered and supplies were scheduled to meet the construction schedule design works for the chambers, trust blocks, culverts, line-anchors, wash-outs and miscellaneous structures started.

Scope of works:
a)Survey existing services and ground levels for 27 Km pipeline and access road.
b)Design pipeline profile drawings, valve chambers, thrust blocks, road crossings, line anchors, access roads, protection slabs, wash outs, air vents, tie-on details with CS trunk line and the fibre optic system for remote control system and connections with the main SCADA network.
c)Procure pipes, fittings, valves, fibre optic lines and accessories.
d)Excavate, lay, construct chambers, and install valves & fittings and hydro-test to 27 bars the 27 Km of Twin GRP 1400 mm pipeline network.
e)Construct and maintain temporary access roads.
f)Construct embankment and bund formation and other similar related earthworks throughout the entire length of the pipeline.

h)Connections and disconnections to existing water pipelines.
i)Reinforced concrete valve and meter chambers complete with all accessories, access ladders, manhole covers and frames, ventilation pipes, etc.
j)Reinforced concrete inspection chambers for fiber optic cables complete with all accessories, manhole covers etc.
k)Reinforced concrete service culverts under existing roads.
l)Reinforced concrete drainage culverts under pipe bunds.
m)Reinforced concrete anchor/thrust blocks and line anchors.
n)Reinforced concrete pipeline protection slabs.
o)Thrust boring for road crossings.
p)Thrust boring for gas and oil pipeline crossings
q)Installation of Fiber Optic cables and associated ducts.
r)Installation of electrical and control systems including electromagnetic flow meters, pressure transmitters, actuators and associated distribution boards and control cabinets etc.
Commissioning and test run of the systems as may be required.
